4-Leaf Clover

Sorry for the delay in posting. We keep getting e-mails at work reminding us of the policy of no accessing blog sites from work sites / equipment. Of course, my guilty conscience sees these messages aimed directly at me. (You never know about big brother, man.) And I usually try to stay off the computer when I get home to spend some time with Michael. So - that's my excuse.

During yesterday's wanding, the doctor said, "Oh! You look so pretty!" while referring to my right ovary. Okay...not something you hear every day. In addition to yesterday, I had another follie check today. I have 4 follicles between 17-19 on the right and 2 more from 14-16 on the left. My usual doctor was there, along with my favorite nurse. She got all excited and printed a picture off of the ultrasound machine. Apparently, the 4 follicles on my right ovary resembled a 4-leaf clover. To her. I'll let you judge for yourself.

Either way, we'll take all the luck we can get!

The doctor wanted to push me for another day, given my history of immature eggs. However, once my bloodwork came back, that plan changed. Apparently, while my estrogen was still rising, it wasn't rising by as much as expected. So, change of plans - Michael is giving me the trigger shot tonight, in addition to my usual 3 shots in hopes that the additional dose of stims will help those eggs get ready for retrieval on Saturday (instead of Sunday).

We've already had some good luck this week. Michael got a job! We are super excited and relieved. It just takes a huge weight off of both of us. Here's hoping that nurse is right and my 4-leaf clover ovary brings more good luck to our house!

Love that four-leaf lucky charm! So, I'll wish you "slainte" instead of regular ol' good luck and health...
