Procrastination

I had a rough week. Work-wise, not infertility-wise. It's one of those times when I just feel like I can't seem to catch up. I've worked a lot of the weekend, aside from having lunch with a friend and doing some household chores. (I was rather proud of myself for doing a few things that would usually be Michael's domain - fixing the toilet and spraying a hornets nest on the garage - without getting stung - quite the accomplishment.)

Although, today I was reminded of my college days. It was always a joke that my apartment was spotless before finals because cleaning was my procrastination tool of choice. Well, today as I sat down to write this grant - I thought, "I CANNOT LIVE ONE MORE MOMENT WITH MY KITCHEN LIKE THIS." So, I had to get up and immediately clean the kitchen top to bottom. Then I had to start some laundry. Productive? Yes, just not exactly what I needed to be doing this weekend.

Does anyone else have any preferred procrastination methods? I guess cleaning is better than drinking heavily.

I've gotten about half of the grant written. I have to have the first draft done by Tuesday PM - and I'm in meetings all day tomorrow. Looks like I've got a couple of long nights ahead. Guess I'd better get back to it. Or wait - I think I hear the dryer buzzing...

I tend to clean when I have been drinking heavily.;) It's nice being a productive drunk, but then I can't find anything later.

I find going to a for a walk can make me more productive because I can organize my thoughts while doing it.

and hey... extra points: you can procrastinate from that grant writing while you read it.

I thought you would appreciate this... I had a long conversation at the pool where we just went on vacation and met an amazing husband and wife. I asked them if all 5 of the children I saw around them were theirs. They said they had their first set of twins right around 20 years of marriage. They had 6 children in 26 months. Can you imagine? They had 3 sets of twins and sadly lost 1 of the 6 babies (the only girl). All 5 of the children were as happy & healthy as can be. Anyways, I don't think they were a fertility story. I think she just didn't get pregnant, but when she did it didn't stop working. I have no idea how they keep up with 5 children that are 6 and under.

Um, another hand up for cleaning as procrastination tool of choice. Are you sure you're not secretly my long lost twin or something?
