Of the 8 eggs they got yesterday, 6 were mature. Of those 6, 4 fertilized! So, we have 4 embryos to watch. (Michael has named them Larry, Curly, Moe, and Shemp.) My doctor called this morning to give us the good news. I asked about what percentage they look for to continue to grow and divide after fertilization, and he said the majority - around 80%. He said we'd need to wait until tomorrow to see how they're growing, but that they'd most likely do a Day 3 transfer - which means Tuesday. He'll call me tomorrow and let me know.
We are just so excited to have 4 that fertilized! They will either put back one or two embryos. Let's just hope at least one of those nestles in and implants.
We started the progesterone shots last night. Michael did great. I think it helps that I can't see them. I think that is what was freaking me out about the others.
So - good news all around today! Here's hoping it continues tomorrow!
