I had my final acupuncture session for this cycle. He explained what each needle did for fertility - the ones in the top of my feet fortify my liver (and mainly - help me to relax). The ones in my shins and inner knees nourish my uterus with blood and energy. The ones in my wrists minimize uterine contractions. And finally, the one in the top of my head helps thicken the lining of my uterus - and is also a relaxation point. He also always puts 2 in my ear, but I forgot to ask about those.
I still find it amazing that sticking needles in me can help me relax, but I'm not going to argue - I usually fall asleep during the sessions.
Okay - here's the cool thing. At the beginning of each session, he checks my pulse on both wrists and looks at my tongue. The positive thing is that today he said the pulse signaling implantation on my left side was strong. That apparently means that if we are pregnant this time, it will likely be a boy (or boys). Crazy!
Michael is still skeptical, but from the research I've done - this can't hurt. I figure acupuncture has been around for thousands of years and western medicine has only been around for a couple hundred (if that). At this rate, the acupuncturist has a better track record than the fertility clinic! I figure going to both has to up our odds even more, right? ;-)
